A HISTORY OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS

The Mawalla Group has recorded a continual stream of accomplishments since its original founding in 1961. Some highlights are:

• Since 1961 pioneering and perfecting trial strategies

• in the early 1980s setting up Tanzania’s first Legal Aid Clinic to offer legal access to justice for the less fortunate

• Handling over 50% of recent conveyancing, merger and acquisition transactions in Tanzania’s Arusha and Kilimanjaro regions

• Pioneered many aspects of Tanzania’s landed property law, including land usage models for town planning, zoning and registering properties

• Set up the first, fully licensed Trust Division in Tanzania, which currently holds over USD5 million in assets on behalf of its clients.

Created a dedicated Corporate Services Division offering a full range of corporate management solutions to clients and also manages over 100 client companies. These include:

• A comprehensive data and record keeping system for proper corporate governance

• A landed property management system for managing company assets.

Established a Financial Services Division with services that include:

• Customised models for hunting and conservation companies

• Setting up Funds for community conservation in wildlife areas.

Pioneering Tanzania’s first Private Public Partnership (PPP) in wildlife management areas by facilitating and negotiating investment agreements, as well as creating models of how Wildlife Management Areas should be valued and how proceeds should be derived and distributed.
